The company claims the technology, which took just six months to develop, has a 98 percent success rate among those in the U.K. who have tested it. The Swedish company Tobii Technology, which specializes in eye tracking technology, powers Pizza Hut’s new subconscious menu.
“This year we’ve redesigned restaurants up and down the country and launched a brand new menu with lots tasty new options. But we don’t just want to stop there,” Kathryn Austin, Pizza Hut head of marketing, said.
“We wanted to try a few ideas on the traditional menu format and we’re delighted to have developed the world’s first Subconscious Menu.”
Currently there is no specific timeline on when the new menu might come to Pizza Hut stores in the United States. The company said it will decide if it wants to expand the menu into the U.S. upon seeing the response of customers in the U.K.
